When tennis was introduced in Linköping, the matches were played on a sand court behind one end of the Old Sports Field, which was located west of Tinnerbäcksbadet.

On March 28, 1916, Linköpings Lawn Tennis Club was formed during a meeting at the Freemasons Hotel. The same year, AB Linköpings Tennishall was established, which decided to construct a hall and an outdoor court at Konsistoriegatan.

On October 22, 1917, the Tennis Hall was inaugurated. The building was originally exhibited at the Stockholm Exhibition and was transported in parts on six ox-drawn wagons to Linköping, where it was reassembled.

LTK took an early leading role in Swedish tennis and participated in the first Allsvenskan series in 1924. Charles Wennergren was LTK's most successful player, spending 21 years in the Swedish top rankings, participating in several Davis Cup matches, and the Olympics. Sigurd Karlborg also played international matches and won numerous Swedish and District Championship (SM and DM) medals.

For LTK's 35th anniversary, two additional outdoor courts were constructed in the adjacent Museiparken. These courts were later dismantled when the Concert & Congress Hall construction began.

Veine Fredriksson was a ball genius who, after significant successes as a table tennis player in the national team, became an elite tennis player as well. He had several seasons in the top league with Parca BOIS before transitioning to LTK, where he won numerous medals and trophies in the DM (District Championships), VSM (Swedish Championships), and internationally. In 1976, Veine had a match point against Lennart Bergelin in the VSM. For several years, Veine was an esteemed coach for LTK's men'...

This year, a new record was once again set for LTK's and ÖC's Korptennis. The competition organizers, Martin Bengtsson and Gösta Alm, had assembled a field of 114 teams and 240 players who competed in matches across three divisions on outdoor courts throughout Linköping. What a tennis celebration! In 1973, Korptennis reached its largest scale with a whopping 134 (!) teams.

Birgitta Samuelsson once again won the School National Championship (Skol-SM) and achieved numerous significant successes during her junior years, including achievements in Swedish Junior Championships (JSM) and Junior European Championships. Birgitta pursued a professional tennis career for a couple of years, but was forced to abandon her career due to a back injury.

From 1973 to 1979, LTK organized an annual leg of the international professional tennis tournament, the Bolltex Circuit, where the Swedish elite faced promising foreign players. In 1978, Mats Wilander achieved his major breakthrough by winning the concluding tournament in Linköping.

Efter dramatiskt kvalspel mot Kronprinsens TK inför storpublik i Stångebrohallen gick LTK upp i högsta serien där det blev tuffa matcher mot Spårvägen, SALK, KLTK. I laget spelade Göran Pettersson (Denitton), Roger Ossmin och Göran Pousette.

Utomhusbanorna vid Konsistoriegatan revs då Konsert & Kongress började byggas och tre nya banor anlades intill Nya Tennishallen. Två år senare byggdes ytter-ligare en bana.

In 1980, LTK was awarded the "Mackes Trofé" by the Swedish Tennis Association for well-planned and executed junior development work. Rolf Appelquist, Peter Ronsjö, and Håkan Jonsson thanked all the collaborators for their excellent efforts.

Tomas Nydahl, Helena Dahlström, and Johan Carlsson on the podium at the finals of the Kalle Anka Cup in Båstad. Three years later, they represented Sweden at the individual Junior European Championships in Belgium.

The women's team qualified for the Allsvenskan after a perfect 24-0 record in Division 2 matches. New recruit Anna-Karin Månsson proved to be a significant addition to LTK, bringing a lot of inspiration, even in training, for Sofie Rehme (left).

In the Swedish Junior Championships (JSM), LTK achieved numerous successes: Johan Carlsson won the Boys' Under-16 (P16) final against Stefan Edberg, Helena Dahlström triumphed in the Girls' Under-14 (F14) category, and Tomas Nydahl reached the final in Boys' Under-14 (P14). All three of them went on to become professional tennis players and achieved high rankings: Johan (81st), Tomas (72nd), and Helena (166th).

For two years, the Swedish junior elite competed against three of Europe's strongest junior national teams in this invitational tournament, where several future stars could be seen in action.

When LTK organized the National Junior Championships for 12- and 14-year-olds, 497 players participated. Throughout the tournament, a total of 585 matches were played across four venues: Stångebro (6 courts), TK SAAB (3 courts), Ljungsbro (2 courts), and Åtvidaberg (2 courts). Thomas Johansson emerged as the winner in Boys' Singles 12, and Caroline Gideskog reached the final in Girls' Singles 12.

LTK had a fantastic season in the Elite Series and finished in 3rd place. The team consisted of, from left to right: Roger Nygren, Johan Carlsson, Tomas Nydahl, Peter Lindgren, and Tobbe Ström. Peter advanced to the 119th position on the ATP ranking one year later.

Joakim Nyström, Jonas Svensson, Magnus Gustavsson, and Peter Lundgren competed in qualifying matches for spots on the Swedish Davis Cup team.

Thomas Johansson won the Boys' 14-year-old Junior European Championships in Sofia. Two years later, he won the unofficial World Championships for 16-year-olds in Milan and reached the final in the Orange Bowl in Florida.

This time, 314 players participated when the Boys' and Girls' 15-16-year-old Swedish Junior Championships (JSM) were held at Stångebrohallen and TK SAAB's facility on 6 + 3 courts. During the tournament, LTK even borrowed the ice rink to set up an extra training court, 4 mini tennis courts, and exhibition displays. It was a great success!

This year's Swedish Junior Championships (JSM) were extremely successful for LTK: Caroline Gideskog and Thomas Johansson won Girls' Singles 14 (FS14) and Boys' Singles 14 (PS14), Lotta Aronsson reached the final in Girls' Singles 12 (FS12), Thomas and Johan Gustavsson won Boys' Doubles 14 (PD14), Caroline was a finalist in Girls' Doubles 14 (FD14), and Christofer Johansson/Henrik Ellström reached the semifinals in Boys' Doubles 14 (PD14).

The expansion with two new tennis courts with a clay surface and an all-around court with a synthetic surface was completed. A new reception area, new changing rooms, and an office space for LTK were also inaugurated.

LTK hosted the Veteran Swedish Championships, attracting over 400 participants aged 35-85 years. The visiting players thoroughly enjoyed the facility, which now featured 8 courts, and the excellent work of the tournament management and all the officials!

In 1993, Gunnar Högström and LTK's then-head coach Janco Carlsson initiated "Pea Tennis," which still attracts a large number of tennis enthusiasts every Thursday morning. The ladies participate in their "Soup Tennis" sessions on Wednesdays.

This time, LTK organized only the 16-year age categories. Eric Claesson defeated Robin Söderling in the boys' final, and Sofia Arwidsson became the champion in the girls' category.

Robin Brage reached a ranking of 235 in the world, but had to give up his pursuit due to injuries. He now works at Lidingö Tennis Club.

Andy Chirita, developed at LTK, won JSM and Båstad, earned silver in doubles at the Junior European Championship for Boys 14 years, and later joined Team Catella under the leadership of Mats Wilander.

Linköpings Tennis Club received the "Macke's Trophy" award for best youth development in 2001. This was the second time LTK received the award.

Thomas Johansson won the Australian Open after defeating Marat Safin in the final. Previously, Thomas had a semifinal match against Andy Roddick at Wimbledon as his best Grand Slam result.

Another major international tennis event in Linköping. Italy was able to win a lot because Åsa Svensson couldn't participate due to an injury. What a shame!

Another great success for LTK as Sweden's best players in the age groups 35-85 competed for the national championships in Stångebrohallen.

Louise Brunskog achieved notable victories, including winning the Kalle Anka Cup three years in a row and achieving success in the SALK Open and JSM tournaments. In 2013, she reached a world ranking of 715.

In LTK's professional Future tournament for men, Robin Brage reached the quarterfinals.

Thomas Johansson won an Olympic silver medal in Beijing together with Simon Aspelin after losing the final to Federer/Wawrinka.
